As far as I know it is the same thing as the Arm & Hammer washing soda.

Just make sure it's Arm and Hammer Washing Soda, and not Arm and Hammer Detergent. The boxes look pretty much the same. I guess quite a few people have had a hard time finding it, but like a previous poster said, it's the came as sodium carbonate that you can find in a pool supply section.

EweSheep, I have several bars you can have for postage if you want. I bought a bunch as it was supposed to make a good aphid soap for the garden, and never used it. It's just sitting around collecting dust.

Go ahead and buy the soap from her....with my hubby's blessings, we found twenty one bars just sitting there on Kroger's and boy, I bought the whole lot of them. That would last me a good while! It was the LAST store in town I found after stopping by a doz of different stores and pharmancies and ALAS, found some. Many thanks Bearded Chick!

I asked the clerks in stores and they all said they are discountinuing the soap bars.

The soap is manufactered by Dial Corporation.........so I am very certain they are not going out of business, thats for sure!

All other soaps I found are Ivory and Kirk's Castle (it was coconut oil and you certainly dont want that on your clothes!).

This is about as bad when went looking for a bar of Lava soap. Could not belive how hard it was to find. Needed to scrub one white horse down for a horse show.

Wow! Thanks to y'all for the recipe's , etc!!
Couldn't find the naptha soap, but got ivory instead ... it works great! I am so NEVER buying that expensive laundry soap again.
Clothes smell CLEAN not masked with perfumes.

I think I will try the Ivory... My local Dollar store has them 3 bars for $1. Do you need to grate more than one bar since they are smaller than the Zote soap bars?
