Narragansett turkey egg/jenny question

Do turkey eggs last as long as chicken eggs in regards to eating? Ive taken in 20 or so at this point and don't want to sell them past their prime

Depends on how you store them. If you store them in the refrigerator they should keep as well as chicken eggs.

Oh you guys just reminded me of the time I gifted my sister-in-law with some turkey eggs for Christmas!

When I was new to turkeys, she was impressed with the size and spotted color of the eggs. She’s a Pottery Barn gal through and through and she expressed a wish to have some to blow out and use as vase filler.

So I saved a dozen from August that year and stored them in my fridge until it was time for us to make the drive to Colorado for our Christmas vacation. I gathered all the supplies she would need and made up a craft kit in a gift bag.

Well that gift bag spent about a week either freezing (or heating) in the van, or being taken in and out of different peoples houses in an attempt to keep them from freezing. On Christmas she was thrilled with the gift and promptly put the eggs in her garage fridge until she could get to doing her project.

So along about February, she came home one day to find her son and a group of friends enjoying a meal they had made for themselves. Scrambled eggs. “Odd” she questioned. “I thought we were out of eggs.” Her son said “I found these in the back of the garage fridge.” She said “Oh no! Those are the turkey eggs Aunt Diana gave me for Christmas! They are 6 months old and they were frozen and thawed several times during Christmas! Surely they are rotten!” But no, other than being unusually large, he didn’t notice anything odd about them and they tasted just great.

The whole family had a good laugh over that one!

A couple of Christmases later, I blew some turkey eggs out myself and gave her the finished product.

My Jennies continue to lay eggs in the same pile despite me trying to bait them to lay elsewhere. None seem interested in sitting on them.

It's turned into an issue, I now have 2 baskets of eggs inside, another 20 or so outside, and need to start either selling, eating, hatching, or selling for hatching all of them.

I was not expecting all these eggs. It was my understanding they'd lay for a week or two then brood, not just... lay endlessly.

Anyone know the going price for Narragansett eggs? I did some internet searching but the prices I found are shockingly high and I don't know if I believe it
