In spring of 2013, I'd like to find two Cochin or Wyandotte bantams, but may end up adding two large birds if I can't find the little ones. Does anyone within a day's drive from Nashville breed bantams? If not, the large breeds that I'm interested in are Orpingtons (specifically a blue), Australorps, and Cochins, but Partridge Rocks are another possibility. I keep chickens as pets as much as for eggs, so want to get chicks from a small farm with known friendly parent birds rather than a large commercial hatchery. Several of my friends have convinced me that bird personality runs in blood lines as well as being formed by how we interact with them.
