nasty rooster

i have a nasty Rhode Island Red Rooster and are at my wits end. I have no problems with the hens just my rooster. Any one have any suggestions?

I have found Austrolorp Cocks to be more gentle while protecting the flock.

I also have a friend that had a speckled Sussex cock that was aggressive and that seems to be the pattern. As I have read and talked to people about Leghorns, BSL, RSL are other aggressive breeds.

I have no personal experience with other breeds of cock. Yet I am sure if ask around you will get a multitude of answers to this question I think, it is wise to find a cock that is already grown from one of the wonderful people here on BYC.

Sorry I don't agree, the nasty cockeral is closer to purity, closer to the origins, undiluted, warrior.
It's like if you give mike Tyson and Elton John a baseball bat who would you want to guard you??

Definitely a topic to agree to disagree.. maniac serial killer (mean rooster) can kill just as good as trained assassin (tame rooster)

Never a good reason to keep a bad (nasty) rooster. I've heard the meanest roos make the best soup.
