National Anthem

An ENTIRE thread dedicated to the failure of the Super Bowl on so many levels! I'm in heaven!

Personally, I'm glad the dang thing is over. Everyone can all go home now, and life in the DFW Metromess can return to normal.

From what I've seen, most everything sucked, like Debiraymond said.

America the Beautiful sounded good. I had to listen to the beginning on the radio so I did not get to see the performances; National Anthem just plain sucked. Seriously, we are taught the words in grade school! I could really do without the vocal gymnastics; just sing the song as written!

In truth the Star Spangle Banner is a tough song to sing regardless of whether one remembers the words or not. For the average Joe or Jane the range is awful. Why it was adopted over America the Beautiful is beyond me. I was always one that felt it should have been changed since after 9-11 it expressed feelings better and brought people together more than SSB.

As far as the Super Bowl ads are concerned--I like the one where the dad messed with the little kid in the Darth Nader mask since it is something I would have done.

Speaking of failures... did you hear about the people who bought tickets and didn't get a seat? Evidently they were wanting to set an attendance record and put in extra seating but neglected to have everything checked out. Well yesterday, the fire marshal came in and said, I don't think so. The people who bought the extra seats were sent to a pub to watch the game. $1000 seats! Can you imagine? Well they were compensated 3x their ticket prices but really. Going to the Superbowl and end up at a pub? What a let down! I would have been livid. Clearly, this whole fiasco wasn't thought out at all.

Well, at least I was rooting for the Packers! Woo Hoo!

I can only assume that whoever told Christina she could sing is immensely enjoying their joke...
And if you can't hit the notes, at least learn the words.
