National Young Bird Show in Louisville Ky

I thought it looked kind of capuchin-y, but I think I would have remembered that it was that breed, if it was. I may be wrong though, I was so busy Saturday! haha....

Glad to hear there were some Komorners. i love the breed!!!

None of mine are good flyers. they can fly pretty well, heaven forbid they tumble. Mine are too fat right now and are so lazy it's not funny. I need to get a couple of homers to encourage them. They flew well when I had my Homer.

My Komorner/Continental roller cross never tumbled or rolled. she just did single little backflip in mid flight and then she continues on her way.

I love watching the magpies fly. The multi colored wings are amazing.

I was looking through my NYBS booklet and saw a Komorner Tumbler ad, that made me remember that this bird is perhaps a Komorner?

Sumatra, are Capuchines and Komorners the same thing? Where is Komorners mentioned above?

Capuchines are larger, have longer necks, and a larger crest. The crest on a komorner has the rosettes, but it does not cover the face. The roseetes are also closer to the head and not as large.

Definitely a Capuchina nd not a Komorner due to the placement of the rosettes at the base of the neck and not the head.

Found this pic on the interweb to show the differences. I don't have any pics of mine to show.

Sumatra, if I fly this bird with my tipplers, do you think it would tumble? Is this a bird with a high tumbling tendancy?

Are you refering to the breed or to a specific bird you have?

Komorners have a fairly high tendancy of tumbling. The thing to look for is the full breast and a short compact body. The large breast helps them to tumble by off setting the balance.

They fly well if flown with other tumblers. Komorners by themselves I've found to be lazy flyers, butr they are an easily convinceable breed. They will fly with other flyers quite well.

Mine personally don't tumble. I don't have much open space her to allow for it. One of mine does tumble well, but she was a roller cross and is high energy.
