My grandmother's parents on my Mother's side came out of Clarence Creek Canida, last name Fillion. My grandfathers parents on my Mom's side came out of Saskatchewan Canida, last name Clearmont.

My grandparents homesteaded in a town they called Prince Albert, by a lake is what my Mom said.

"Wounded Knee"

Bury my heart at Wounded Knee
Where a baby´s blood was
a soldiers pay

Bury my heart at Wounded Knee
let it lie with my brothers
till the judgement day

My people were the earth
and the earth was home
when they stole their land
then they stole their bones

Let my people, let my people pass
crossing over this jordan is all we ask

Take the eyes of the guns of peace
my people can´t eat promises
but they can pray

Now my blood is flowing back to Tennessee
and my soul is moving in and out of reach
I´m dancing cause I carry my father´s seed
and I´m walkin´on this earth to see my people free
Bury my heart at Wounded Knee...

Ran across this and thought Some reading the thread might enjoy it!!

According to my 92 year old grandmother, my great, great grandmother was Cherokee. But her census listing just says white. Her maiden name however is consistent with Cherokee people in that area. I don't have a picture of her, but I do have one of her daughter and she looks like she could easily have been 1/2 NA.

wheres Crow?

I've got crow blood.

annnnnd! I live on a trail that the Catawba Indians traversed through to find a new place to call their own...we find arrow heads (well i dont my brother always did) and theres several grave sites...though sadly none are kept historic.....so people can do what they want t othem...however....not many know about them so that's good atleast. To my research they settled in NC and the tribe died out over time...though reciently I saw theres still Catawba Indians. I actually had a rabbitry named after them

Hey Everybody - Been following this thread and it started me back researching my family tree. I've made a lot of progress- I've managed to go back to 1767. Just when I think I can't go any further , Something else comes along and takes me a little further back. So far haven't found the native American link but I may have to find out as many names as I can and then start a different search in the Native American rolls. A lot of things that I ran across I've been able to verify through my 91 year old grandmother and my 87 year old grandmother. They didn't remember a lot of things until I found it and when I told them names and dates and relationships they started remembering a lot more. My eyeballs are about to fall out from being on this computer. I am so happy with all the new info that I have found- It is like a spiritual experience !! Thanks to everybody who have given me tips and leads and words of encouragement!!! I hope everybody has a really good Week!! Carlos Wayne Chamberlain- Huntingdon Tn
