Natural Predator Control

Hair works. So does pretador urine. You can find it at hardware and sporting good stores in a bottle for sale. Dogs work. Depending on the predator fake owl statues and scarecrows work. Also cds hung from trees. I think a loud dog works best.

Right now we have dogs on one side of the run, and we're getting llama for another 2 sides. I have had dh pee on the only exposed side of the run. I may try something else, too. I'm hoping next year that dh will be able to extend the llama pasture around the rest of the chickens.

These ideas have be awesome! Keep 'em coming!!

I'm always catching my BF peeing outside. I think it must feel good. I don't know if it affects the predator population, but I figure, hey that's one pee smudge I won't be scrubbing off the toilet.

DH and our boys both urinate outside frequently during the day while we're outside. Along with the dog. We're planning to get another dog soon as well. I haven't seen any predators on our property, though I have seen several red fox down the road.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Those work well for Herons too that enjoy your free Japanese Sushi bar..(AKA.. the Koi pond).

Some may not believe the urine helps and in some situations it won't. I will stick with it though. The only predator loss I have in the past three years is a black snake ate an egg that was about a week from hatching. My gardens only get predator losses from bugs and my own chickens lol.

I have a creek within 20 feet of the animal barn. Racoons go up and down that creek every night but so far they have not went any closer to the barn than that. I can look 100 feet down the clearing from my yard at night and sometimes count 7-8 racoons messing around well over twenty feet from creek. In my yard they stick to the creek and my driveway crossing it. My barn or run are by no means raccoon proof. This area also has an abundance of coyotes, fox and possum as well. We have bobcats and skunk too.

I am the only person in my area that does not fence my garden. I also happen to be the only person in my area that does not get deer and racoon damage in the garden. The only time deer ever come in my yard is when I quit pouring the special boundary liquids. I must be doing something right. I do not kill predators although not a day goes by without me seeing them in the area.
