Every so often, one or two of my birds gets sneezing & wheezing. When I give her antibiotics it clears right up, but in a few weeks comes back again after a rain or cold snap. I don't want to keep giving them antibiotics and don't want to separate her for that, since it's not going around the entire flock. (She's my sensitive girl for some reason). Is there any natural remedy I can give them all? I'm already giving her Vet Rx which helps open her up a bit, but I think she needs something more.

Thanks for any help you can give me...

After you've used the antibiotic to clear up the problem you can use Apple Cider Vinegar (aka ACV) in the waterers to help stimulate the whole flocks immune system.

Hello my chickens are sneezing and wheezing too!

Started with one two days ago. Then I brought that one in. Now a few are having the same symptoms. The first one is eating a little but still sneezing.
Also the first one seems to occasionally make a gurgling sound in the throat. When all first strarted she was making huge squaks I thought she was choking on something?
I tried the Apple cider vinegar in their water. And today gave them cooked oatmeal with kelp, ACV, and a drop of molasses.
Any recommendations?
thanks

I would of posted this as a seperate question but I can't seem to figure out how to do that?

Thanks !
Do you have any recommendations for treatment for sneezing, wheezing, etc . I would prefer to not use antibiotics.-s

There is something I use called Vet Rx. It comes in a small bottle, you can get it at the feed store. It's kind of like a Vicks VapoRub for chickens. I use that when my cochin has a bad case of wheezing, but it only works as a temporary measure to ease her congestion. Perhaps that will help for a bit?

I guess I'll go back on the meds for a bit. :-(

Luvinmypeeps -Hey thanks for the Vet Rx recommendation! I actually tried to find it today and no place here sells it. I will see about ordering it.
