Naughty girls

My chickens never got mean, but I did find that there was a "teenage" time of a couple of weeks where they really got anxious about human contact. If I recall it was roughly a 2 week period about a month or so before they started to lay. Once they started squatting and getting close to lay they reverted back to their old selves. Not cuddly like some folks get, but tolerant of me picking them up and touching them while they were getting treats.

On the other hand, they never launched themselves at anything.. So I'm not sure if it's the same thing... However the timing seems about right with yours.

Yeah they should be fairly close to laying so might start prepping their nest boxes (we've had them covered up so they don't sleep in them). The jumping is never at us directly it's only when we are walking away or when they can hear us talking, so think it's more of an attention thing.
The littlest red sex was acting weird yesterday, I was moving a couch cushion into the shed cause it was about to storm and she freaked out and started sprinting around skwarking her head off like I was a predator.
Just hoping we don't have a dude that looks like a lady

If one of them is such a late male, there's some potential for him to be infertile and basically a glorified hen, lol, without the usefulness. He may crow occasionally and mate but one I had was about as blank a slate as a chook can be. Spent most of his time just staring at the world around him, think he was a few sandwiches short of a picnic, didn't behave like a male or a female. It's also possible 'he' was a hen with quite awol hormones, it happens. ;)
Best wishes.
