NC State Fair Chicken Show

Im sure there would be some that would, but most just bring their barnyard birds. Very rarely is there any competition, as the last time I showed there, I had all of the cochins that were there. I didn't even enter any this year, as in the end, it was more work than it was worth. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the OPs post.

I think a fair our size, the NCState fair gets over 100,000 people in a day at this fair, and its $7 a person to get in! Its PRICEY!

I spent over $50 Monday morning and we spent a good amount of our time just looking at animals, petting Zoo, I didn't pay to get in since I was in a recipe contest that morning, but man is was expensive to even eat a little or get a drink... 3 rides for me a 2 year old (I got on free when I paid for her, you know, the tea cups! LOL)

Anyways, I was soooooooooooooooo blown away to see the number of birds I saw, and to see the quality of the one's with ribbons. If they had sanctioned judges someone needs to complain to the APA!

According to the website:
"The American Standard of Perfection will be the guide of the judges in awarding
premium. The premiums will be paid only on standard varieties listed in this catalog,
and then only to worthy specimens."

Our admission price is $10 for adults and $5 for children & seniors. I have usually purchased a drink with cheap refills and taken the cup back every day. I know one year they used the same types of cups as the previous year. so I was able to save there, too.
