NC/VA/SC/GA Chicken Meet UPDATE: pg 15

nccountrygirl,

Where is it located?
Is there a big parking lot?

I don't think we'll have a problem getting a reservation at noon as long as the place takes reservations.

Give us some info on Ryans nccountrygirl.

Do they have buffet, what kind of food, etc.

Just a thought,

Is there anybody in Raleigh that would be willing to have the meet at their house?

If I can convince my DH to have it at my house, (I'm about 40 miles NORTH of Raleigh on US #1) , how many of ya'll south of Raleigh would be willing to drive a little farther?

I don't know if I'll be able to do that or not. It'd be best for me if we met at a resturaunt or something for me. We don't have to eat, just find somewhere to chill out and talk.

Well, I don't have to eat any way, lol. I could probably work it out to come to somebody's house but idk.

That's OK peeps, it was just a thought.

Laura, I think Ryan's would be a great spot.

According to mapquest, it's off I-440, exit 298a towards Fayetteville.

Very close to Farmers Market exit.

Is this OK for everyone else?

I still think someone had better check and make sure Ryans or whatever restaurant doesn't mind a bunch of chickens in their parking lot while we all hang out and talk chicken!!

I was going to have one here on the farm at some point so more of the VA folks could come. Have a big bbq for lunch and plenty of space on the 32 acres. Someones house is fine with me. We would be a crowd, not like anyone would be alone! On that note we would be a CROWD, the homeowner would have to be prepared for that!

Hey, does anyone happen to have a young about-to-lay or just-started-laying Black Australorpe pullet/hen that they would be willing to swap for a same-age Barred Plymouth Rock hen? I would really like an Australorpe.
