After November 4, 2012 you will have to be a Member to Buy or Sell Birds at the club to meet insurance requirements to the club. Also all birds that require Pullorum - Typhoid and Avian Influenza testing , you must have a certification card with you to sell. Birds can be sold without certification if sold directly to slaughter within 72 hours. With the outbreak of Pollorum in N.H & MA, the state may come in and shut down the club for selling untested birds for sale. The state does the blood test for free. www.mass.gov/agr Nobody wants to buy un-tested or sick birds. I guess we better start attending the meeting so they can't pass stupid ideas.No one will pay to buy and this will kill our sales.What are our leaders thinking?Maybe they just want the money and the heck with the club.I will be attending meetings from now on and voicing my opinion.I have been a member of this club for at least 25 years and it just gets aggrivating to see dumb laws passed.And worst of all,it's mostly the members fault because we don't attend the meeting ,so the higher ups pass whatever they feel fit,but they are wrong on this one.

Tony-- I think you are absolutely right on this. It may keep away buyers-- I hope not, but I will wait and see how many buyers show up before I make the trek up there, gas prices being what they are and all. I was planning to join so I could sell off the extras, now I will wait and see.

While I do agree with you Tony, that having to be a member will indeed affect sales, this states that it was done to satisfy the insurance company. It's possible they had no choice. I don't understand why the insurance company would care WHO the buyer is, but then I don't understand a lot of what they do. Some people with GEICO are being denied homeowners insurance because they have poultry on their property.
 
i we will be comeing with a freind pobably for just a hour, i am going to bring 3 young love birds peach heads, a couple bird cages a couple foldable cages one is a parrot foldable cage with black plastic tray, and a ferret cage maybe a few of them can used for ferrets rabbits or chickens , i also have a big parrot cage big and heavy duty great for a macaw african grey cockatoo type breeds i will only bring that one if someone is interested
oh and 2 mini rex bucks
