I'm in Lincoln and I'd be interested in the non gmo corn

I am in Omaha and have looked everywhere for No GMO corn. The closest place so far is Sidney NE, 400 hundred miles away. This is the web site.

I am desperate tho and am willing to pay for it.
I am awaiting her reply.

I have found no other. Bomgaars said they would try and get organic feed. But to no avail.
Nebraska will have nothing to do with no GMO corn.
All of it is monsanto GMO.
Kelloggs is here in Omaha so the cheapest corn they get for the cereal is GMO corn. And ConAgra wants cheap GMO corn.

If you find anywhere please tell me.

I did make it, I'm the show secretary. The show went really well, we had just under 900 birds. Down a bit from the previous years, but hard not to be when sandwiched between two huge shows on either side and another show with a big meet the same weekend. I have some photos that I'll be posting on the club thread here on BYC. I've been working at finishing up all the show reports, but should be able to get to them soon. Work for next year's show are in the works already and looking forward to seeing what we get.

I missed it again this year. I was once again sick with the garbage going around. And I so wanted to go.

I'm starting to wonder if me being sick during the show is some kind of Divine intervention of some sorts to keep me from suffering from chicken math.

Anyway, how's everyone enjoying the nicer temps here lately? I know my girls are appreciating it. And one of my Ameraucana's is back laying after taking a long break, because I got a pretty blue egg yesterday. The 5 Colombian Wyandottes that I got in Nov. kept us in eggs all winter though, so when it picks up with the older girls, I'm going to have a surplus and most likely will start selling some. That will be good, and hopefully will pay for some feed now and then. LOL

I noticed the stores around here are carrying "organic" eggs for $2.49 / dozen. But when I opened the carton, they all looked dyed to me. They weren't really brown eggs they were kind of an orange color.

Makes me wonder what kind of a chicken lays that kind of an egg.

Hello, There are two APA/ABA sanctioned shows outside of various county fairs and the state fair. They are the Nebraska State Poultry Association held the 1st weekend in November at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln, NE and the Cornhusker Poultry Club held in Scribner, NE the last weekend in April. The NSPA does have a website I started the fall of last year and need to do some updating on there very soon, its www.nestatepoultryshow.com. The Cornhusker club as of yet does not have a website, but if you want more info, you can always ask as I'm the show secretary for the NSPA and a member of the CPC as well.

haha too funny. Hopefully you'll be able to make the shows coming up this year!
I suppose the eggs could be dyed, but also know solutions like Tyvek and the like will tint eggs, which is used to clean eggs.
Do you have bantam or large fowl columbian wyandottes?

They are the large fowl. I need to get new pictures of them, they are so pretty. This is when I first brought them home and they were just starting to get their tail feathers in.



Here they are enjoying the nest boxes together. There are two of my girls in the top one. LOL

No, I don't have a roo. I got them from a gentleman in Hooper. Just a few miles north of us. When I got there, I was only going to bring 3 home. Ha! Well, when I saw them, I was drooling, because they were just so pretty that I had to have them all. And he gave me the little Buckeye, because she was their little mascot. He couldn't stand to see them separated.

She's a sweet little thing, and she was very small when I brought her home, but she's pretty much as big as my Ameraucanas now. So she was just slower at growing than the Colombians were.

So my coop is a little bit crowded, but come this spring, that's all going to change. They all get along, and they don't mind at this point, but when the heat hits, I'm sure that they will be upset and need more roost space. Darn chicken math anyways! LOL

i'm trying to think who that might be.....Scribner is just a hop skip and jump from there where the Cornhusker Poultry Club is. I'm trying to think if I met anyone from there or have them on a mailing list for one of the clubs. Not many have them at all. I have a pair and am hoping to do some hatching from them this spring. Never got the chance last year as I had to cut my season short due to family stuff that came up health wise.
