Gorgeous flock! What kind is the hen in the center?


Hi fellow Nebraskans, we're just outside of LNK and having a great time raising our first flock: a mixed group of 13 hens and 2 roosters:




Now they just need to start laying!

She's a Speckled Sussex.

What's the black and white one that you can see the tail on in your second picture?

Oh I just love the coloring of the speckled Sussex, pretty bird!

Alice is a white laced Polish crested. Here are some photos of her after I gave her a "haircut".

Oh thank you! The black & white is quite chic, I must say.

May I ask where you got your speckled Sussex from? We may be interested in adding more hens to our flock down the line (after winter, of course).

I bought all mine at Murdoch's. I had a Columbian wyndotte too who was starting to get really pretty. Similar black and white pattern to yours, but much more white with black/grey streaks. She was taken from us by a raccoon though

Hello fellow Nebraskans! I live just outside of Gothenburg. I have a Rhode Island Red (Sunshine), Black Star (Heedley), Easter Egger (Airborne), and my rooster is a Barred Plymouth Rock (Zander).
