we bought a trio of hens today at a poultry swap. One hen has a cone and waddle that are more pink really than red and it lays to the side. Is this a disorder? is she ok? Another hen the back of her neck is raw and missing feathers. What's the best treatment? The other hens seem to be picking on her a little. I'm new to the chicken hobby and know next to nothing. Any suggestions?

The hen with the pale comb and wattles may be starting to molt. Make sure you check very closely for lice and mites, as they can cause anemia. The other hen with the missing feathers may be low in the pecking order. Some chickens will get their feathers picked by other chickens higher up. Sometimes you might need to find the picker and get rid of them. BluKote helps to disquise red areas so they are left alone.
