I have a weird request. I’m putting together a poster for 4h on feather patterns. I already said that’s what I was doing so unfortunately can’t go back lol. Thing is.. I really don’t know if many feather patterns. I’m thinking I need 9. Idk if there is that many.
So far the only ones I know of are mottling, lacing, barring, and penciling.

Nice lol, I'm doing mine on showmanship. There's mottling, lacing, barring, penciling, spangled, striped(barred?), splashed, open lacing, open barring, cuckoo barring, and double-laced.
Tysmmmm this helps a TON

I just found it online: "In the context of chicken plumage, "open lacing" refers to a feather pattern where a narrow band of a contrasting color outlines the edge of each feather, leaving a larger center area of the feather's ground color exposed. "
Weird, that description just sounds like the description of regular lacing
"'Open barring' refers to a barring pattern with widely spaced bars."
Sounds like cuckoo
