Need a BIG question answered fast!!!! OH NO!!!!!!!!

Hope you find her and can bring her back. You will need to lock up all the dogs in order to have a chance, I think.

I have been having everyone keep the dogs locked up and the cats well there aint no way to keep all of them locked up. Just went and looked again and didnt see her but did see some rippling on the water. Tried to be as quiet as possible but i snapped a twig and the frogs went crazy and i heard something swimming away fast. So im almost positive it was her. Cause i also heard a little "squeak" you know like mandarins make. Anyway, I still dont know how to catch her. I think she is to scared to come back. But doesnt want to leave her mate. Ugh!

Perhaps you can try leaving a little duck food at the water's edge at regular intervals. Other animals may also eat it, but she might find it and anticipate the feedings and wait for you after a little while. Then, you can work from there.

OMG! YOU ARE A GENIOUS! LOL! I didnt even think about that. I wish I didnt have to work tomorrow so i can keep an eye on the pond. I am thinking about calling off, but I need the money!

Thanks! Maybe you can put some out before work tomorrow to begin with. Just make sure it's not too close to your pens as to attract any pests or predators.

I know where I live a lot of wild ducks know exactly who comes to feed them and at what time, so they wait at that exact time everyday. Some ducks are so friendly that you can feed them by hand.

Any chance you could put a harness on your male duck with a long leash, take him over to the pond, attract his mate and then nab her with a net? Or lead her back home by having her follow him?

Good luck,

Michelle:/

I will! I dont go to work till 8 so i will be up at 6 and get the food out there when the sun is rising. Thats the time she would be feed all the time anyway. I was also thinking about the harness thing with the male. But i need time to do this. And today was not the best of days. Cloudy and nasty! Blah! I am off Wednesday and Thursday so if she is not back by then, I will be trying all sorts of things. But I will definately start putting feed out at the pond. I do have to hide it a little though, cause the pond is on my neighbors property. I dont think he will mind cause he gave me permission to basically do anything i needed to catch her.

A wind storm came by last month and i went out to get my ducks but it had gotten pretty dark and rainy. I couldn't find them so i was hoping for them to come back to the barn or find a quiet place for the night. In the morning I searched for my female mallard and found her hidden in a bush perfectly fine. If your girl is smart she will find a safe place for now but if i were you i would look for her around outside of the place she got out and on you property. Hope you find her. Good Luck.

Nope! Absolutely no sign of her anymore. The male isnt even making any noise any more. I believe she is gone.

I am starting right now to try and find my male another mate. Oh and maybe a second pair. So if anyone knows where I can find any, please let me know. I know its going to be hard to find a single female.
