They are the cutest things I've seen all week!!!! FOUR??? Adorable. Are you keeping all of them??

This is just the first set of kids...I have many more due in the next month. No I don't keep all of them. I milk and make some cheese and soap. They are lots and lots of fun.

that must be like watching popcorn pop when they hatch. I would have my nose pressed to the bator all hatch day. no chance for hubby to get a nice dinner that day. best of luck.

lol, I'll let you know if it's like pop corn, I've never done this many, heck I've never had 4 incubators. I only had 1 last year with 2 dz eggs at a time. One thing I do know is that the 7 of us can be watching in 4 incubators instead of 1.

you couldn't see in the little window, there was too many heads in the way. I can't wait!
I can see veining in the light colored eggs!

I hope you don't get whiplash trying to watch them all hatch at the same time. better have some ben gay on hand just in case. maybe we should all send you a casserole for hatch day so you don't starve.

welcome to this thread.

she just hatched the first chicks from my bloodlines for this season. she has more in lockdown, and I brought her another 42 last night. oh, and she has 2 litters of newborn siberian huskies that I got to see last night.

OK! Good news, I candled just a couple eggs today and I think I've got some fluff growing in there!! The shells are light blue, olive-brown and bluegreen (not REALLY dark) and I can see the yolk but I can't see through the yolk. It looks to me like there is something sort of hanging off the yolk (?) as I slowly rotate in the light.

Since I thought I'd killed them with low temp in the very beginning this is promising to me!
I'll be doing a staggered hatch as I bought 4 more eggs while in depression over killing the first ones

Found a good thread about staggering and I hope hope hope I can make it work!!
