Three of the four new eggs I put in the incubator on Sunday show development! The fourth is a darker shelled olive so I'll check again this weekend! I hope this staggered hatch idea works out.

Well, I skipped the turner and have been turning by hand. I did see the link from earlier in the thread about the turner made with PVC and egg cartons? that might work for me - less chance of dropping them. I'm kind of afraid to change things mid hatch though. Any thoughts on this?

you could always put the turner in, put the best eggs in it. take the rest and put them in the space between the front of the turner and the wall of the bator. I hatched quail eggs that way last year.

Thanks! I might try that.

the people I know who stagger in one bator take a row out of the turner so the eggs that need to hatch can lay on their sides. no idea what they do for humidity. I have 1 bator that I use for hatching only.

I am using the egg carton and PVC pipe turner and it is great. I even did it when the eggs where in the bator 2 or 3 weeks already. So much easier to do it that way then turning them by hand. take 2 seconds.

And just looked at the calender and realized hatch date is on the 17th wow time flew for this hatch. I need to really find a flashlight now just cannot get mine going. Might try and get some new batteries and see if that will help. I have tried using fairly fresh ones from the remote to the TV and still its dull. Hope I have something.

thanks another poster sent it to me. And boy does it wrk great love it. Will do this in the future. Instead of taking about 5 minutes to turn the eggs I actually have 36 not 50 LOL was really tired when I posted that. Now its takes seconds. I did read a tip from a person that when ever she opens the bator she sprays a little water in there to help keep the temp up and it wrks great. I keep mine in the bator with the eggs. just sites right on the side. quick squirt (spray) each time I turn the eggs and it stays at 101 ever time.
