I have a white partridge silkie.

I have to ask... What is a white partrige silkie?
I've had White & BBS for 2 years. Just added Paint Silkies saturday. I have cuckoo, porcelain & lavender in the bator from shipped eggs. For my next hatch, I had to separate my "experimental" White over BBS... trying to see if the cockerel is dominant or recessive white. I put them in an LG with my other experiment which I really hope works. I used a White Ameraucana over Wheaten Ameraucana hens. He's supposed to carry cuckoo & I want to create Barred Wheaten. We'll see! Next hatch is due Sunday & goes into lockdown today.

I crossed this girl with a very nice partridge. the chick is white with partridge markings. I have done this in the past and kept a few. one of my girls looks partridge till you part her feathers. the down is white.

One of my crooked foot chics healed itself after I added vitamins to the water and left it to it's own devices!!!!

The other crippled one has orthopedic tape booties as of tonight. She seems pretty strong, I hope it helps.

She's beautiful! None of my Silkies has a full top knot like that.

I have wanted show quality silkies for a while. I do not show I just wanted beautiful.
I did have problems with them this winter. they kept dunking their heads so I was constantly blow drying them. when it got down to single digets at night I panicked and gave them both military buzz cuts. broke my heart but I wanted them to stay dry and healthy. they came through the winter and the top knots are growing back.

Got a new Hovabator (still air-styrofoam) yesterday! Very excited! It still smells like styrofoam after bleaching it....not sure if it's ok to start using it right away....anyone know?
My chick that was chirping at me yesterday morning had pipped by noon and is making progress...not quick progress but progress none the less!!!

In His Service --- so sorry about your hatch, but good news on the new bator!!

congrats to all of you that are getting hatches. I finally pulled me eggs out of the bator yesterday. I got 11 out of the 38 that I got.
they are all doing fine but one. I have one that is crippled and cannot sit up but lays on its stomach and scoots around. His or her feet do not look right either. But he or she is fighter. but I am thinking of humanely of putting it down. It will not be able to use it legs. Can any of you tell me the best way to do this. My husband called a vet and they said to put it in a bag and put it in the freezer. they say is will slowly put it to sleep.
any suggestions. I can try and take a pic of the chick if you all want to see it, to see if it might be helped

My chick was alive at 12:30 when I was home for lunch. Got home after work @ 3:15 and it was dead in the shell, no more progress. So I'm feeling like if I would have helped just a little, like cracked the shell a little for it, it maybe would have made it. How do you know when to help???!!!
