In England, people often buy them made with chickens eggs they are very popular, but by making them with quail eggs you can call them mini scotch eggs. Children seem to prefer them to normal scotch eggs and are relished.
Another way I use boiled quail eggs are at Halloween time. Take some ready made cold boiled eggs and cut a thin slice from the thick end of the egg so it stands up straight. Buy some cherry tomatos (small tiny ones) and cut these in half. Scoop out the seeds to leave an empty tomato shell and place these on the pointed end of your boiled egg. Take something like a tooth pick, and dip this in some mayonnaise and place spots on top of the tomato. You can then tell children they are "poison mushrooms" Put them on a bed of lettuce and serve.
Ironsun.
