I did a quick search but I couldn't find any info on the behaviour other than an all out attack. I'm really not sure what I am dealing with here. I'm am going to try again this time looking for "tips". Thanks for the suggestion.

I'd let him know that you're the boss, my roo courted me for awhile and got the bluff in on me! took me a year and a half to get my guts up to show him i wasn't scared of him anymore. (yeah right, he still dogs me into a corner sometimes)

I did too, looked through many of lee's old posts and couldn't find it but I do remember an entire page on aggressive rooster behaviors and how to deal with them and he was the author...Rooster-Red.....maybe he will see this post and answer it, he really gives great advice on this subject. Good luck!

Oh my gosh, that is sooo funny. I just spent five minutes watching all of the roosters attack people. One thing in common with all of those videos...the photographers are laughing their butts off instead of helping.

This stuff makes me kind of grrrrr. :thun .....If you watch the majority of those attacks were provoked. The rooster's job is to protect his girls. Don't stick your hand in the cookie jar if you don't want missing fingers!

There are ways of calming your roo. Make a point to pick him up and play with him like a child with a brand new puppy, don't put him down until YOU are ready to put him down. One of three things will happen, he will be dying to get away from you or will just enjoy being around you or he will become more aggressive and therfore chicken noodle soup! Lord People.....use your brains!

My roo has never been provoked, at least not by me. So far he has never acted like he is going to flog me either. If I provoked him and he flogged me, I'd get what I was asking for.

But come on, you have to admit that Mama & Grandma's screams were funny!

I wasn't trying to pull anybody's leg. The spurring can come after you don't submit to his "advances". A rooster will step up the intimidation to get you to submit and will keep trying and get more aggressive about it until you put him in his place.
