Need adcive about chick strange behavior

One of my 4-day old silkie chicks keeps opening and closing her beak for no reason. Is she panting? I've dipped her beak in water in case she's thirsty but the beak keeps doing it. Any thoughts?

If its contantly, open, closing, open, closing- it'd be panting.

If she's just opening her beak and closing it once in a while its not panting. my chicks of other breeds do that once in a while.

I doubt its anything to worry about, if she is panting make sure she has a place to go out of the brooder light to cool off.

Silkies are prone to nuerological disorders, but it seems that she'd have other symptoms like an inability to hold her head right, or to stand and walk correctly.

I saw one of my chicks doing that a couple of days old spooked me but two weeks later and fine!
