Need advice and feel like an idiot. Chicks afraid of the dark?

I posted in another thread about my chickens as soon as it gets dark or after I switch the light off in the barn, they all huddle on a crate where there food is-one calls all the others to bed, then they snuggle down together.
If you switch the light back all they all get up and start running around back to where they were pecking for food-it is very funny!

Chicken are not afraid of the dark, they always make a boat load of noise when going ro sleep. The top of pecking order goes to bed first then the lower ones make the most noise and the bottom or young chicks are last to enter. Just put them in the coop at night they will figure it out, at 13 weeks they can hold their own, even my 8 week old chicks do. I have always aloud mothers to raise their chicks in the coop and babies I hatch go out by 6 weeks, have never had a problem. They are birds and will be fine.
