I have 14 barred rock chickens 18 weeks , 3 pekins 14 weeks and then my "baby" geese girls are now going on 5 weeks - baby is quoted cuz they are about as tall and wide as the pekins but weigh about as much as the BR hens . They are way too big for the homemade brooder I have them in...;( and the outside cage I put them in is the only thing I have to "integrate" them . So I have been putting them outside in that cage all during the day - they can get used to the ducks and chickens and vice versa . And when I'm outside I let them free range w the others . . Yesterday actually they sprung the latch on the cage and were out w the whole flock ranging for who knows how long before my son noticed and told me . I went out and they were just sitting there like " what mom ?" I put them back in the cage tho.

My question for all of the geese ppl is ... Can I put them in the coop now at night? Still cage em during the day ... As I feel they would get stuck somewhere or something idk not old enough yet ... But everything fully free ranges during the day ... Only sleeps in the coop . Chickens get the top roost bars . Ducks have a corner nest. Can I now bring the Geese in?

I believe I'd put them in the coop but inside their cage for a couple days to a week, when I have introduced chickens to my flock I put them in the coop inside a dog crate over night, that way they can all get use to each other with out any pecking going on. Also your geese may pick on your chickens, geese can have an attitude and you may have to give them their own space inside the coop, we made a stall inside for ours so they have their privacy and the rest of the flock who slept in their house wasn't picked on by them.

Thank you miss lydia ! So far they are the lowest on the chain ... If ya know what I mean ? They are the youngest . The chickens have no problem pecking them if they nibble too far .. They put everyone including ducks in their place . . I worry about how much they nibble ... Lol they will share the floor with my pekins and the geese put EVERYTHING in their mouth 24/7 !!!! . And boy is that mouth different and it hurts! I dunno how my ducks will handle that ??
So a stall forever ? Or just for a while?

Now my geese have their own house but if i had kept them in with the ducks they would have had the stall for night time sleeping, mainly because my adulrt geese tolerate the ducks and chickens but don't think they would have been good bed fellows. Missy is bossy and Sam well he's a gander if you know what I mean. Since you have 2 girls it may just work out fine. Especially since yours aren't closed up 24/7 with each other, or you might have some bald chickens like you said Geese like to put anything into their mouths which means they would probably chew on some of the hens. Missy is much worse at chewing and gnawing than Sam ever was but he was raised with ducks too must make a difference.

Yes one of my goose girls is way worse at chewing than the other - I was also thinking that Should I coop them up during the day for a few days ? Like outta that cage but let them be in the coop by themselves .. To teach them . That that is home . Just like I did with the ducks and chickens ? I know they need grass and such so of course I'd go out and let them out w me supervising ranging..

Ok soooo. And last night I put the geese in the cage in the coop . Kept them cooped w the ducks and chickens till 12 today - i wasnt home to supervise and i dont even let my older ducks out unless im home- but I was out in the yard w them all till 2 .. Now I came in and let them alone - I can still see them they my back window . They call for me . But the ducks run to them . They are all huddled in a lil duck/ geese pack . It's cute . The geese don't stray far from my older Pekin girls . I'm still going to cage them at night... Not going to push my luck..>_< haha

Sounds like they are becoming a flock though that is great.
