need Advice incubating Peafowl eggs

I am no expert just learning. I hatched silkie chicks so far and peachicks. I read on other forums if you are unsure of the age of eggs to stop turning when the aircell drawsdown , that is when the beak punctures the internal airsack. Search up "drawdown" so you know what that looks like. I started incubating because the qauils in my yard leaves unhatched fully develooed eggs behind , sometimes i find abandoned clutch and hatch them. With the quial eggs i could not see inside so i kept turning until i heard pecking or chirping inside egg, then i stopped turning.

Look careful at the egg, the white area is where i sanded down the top color layer to make the shell thinner so the chick can break the shell easier. I had two die in shell after not being able to break out , the next two i had to poke an air hole after almost two days of internal chirping. I figure sanding the shell would be safer than an assisted hatch, and less stressful! Seems to work so far. Inhave in the next two weeks 6 more eggs to hatch.
