My midget white hen is an experienced mother. She has raised turkeys and chickens well.
However, she has left the eggs for hours and gone to bed in a different location. When she did this before I moved the eggs to her. This has happened about 3 times. I did it again tonight.
I wonder if I should just leave her. I can't believe it's not intentional. Maybe she knows they are not viable. I water tested them and they floated -- I did not look for movement. They are 17 days old.
I don't really need more turkeys so I am not heartbroken if they don't hatch.
Any wise words for me PLEASE? I am wondering if I am doing the right thing moving the eggs under her each time I find this situation.
