Need advice on fertile eggs

I just bought the Farm innovators Model 4250 digital circulated air incubator with an automatic egg turner, it'll be here on Saturday. Anyone have experience with it?

I'm about to go collect fertile eggs... Do I leave them in the house (we have the AC on it's about 70-75) or do I put them in the shed until Sunday/Monday (it's 97 today then 80 after that) when the incubator is ready?

Better keep them in the house or they may have some development. In addition the warmer air may evaporate (dehydrate) them faster.

Optimal storage is around 55-60 with high-ish humidity. Don't forget pointy end down.

I'm nervous I never in a million years thought I would ever hatch eggs. The incubator that I wanted I found it on sale on Amazon for a really amazing deal plus I found a brooder that will work in our shed until they're big enough to go outside.

I honestly wasn't even supposed to have roosters but our order got mixed up with someone else's and we wound up with two jersey giant roosters. My loss on the pullets was actually a gain in a weird sort of way!

Since I found this incubator on sale just randomly, some of my eggs were in the fridge.

Does that mean I can't use them?

Or should I take them out and get them to room temperature?

I have barred rock/jersey giant, Delaware/jersey giant, red sex link/jersey giant eggs that are fertile. I tried to get some fertile eggs from a friend, but their chickens just started laying so they didn't think they'd be good.

Ok sounds good. I'll update as I see progress. I don't even know what the chicks will look like.

I have that incubator, and it is great! Yea, they belong inside pointy-end down.

But hey, those eggs from that friend might just might have a shot. Worth a try. The embryo has been killed in those eggs that were in the fridge so you can not incubate them.

You should join the October hatch a long. You can learn, and read about everyone else's hatches.

I have never tried hatching eggs I've refrigerated but many people have and had a great hatch. You won't know unless try. Yes, if you're goung to try hatching them, bring them to room temp now. Good luck!

I suggest you get plenty of sleep before hatch day because as it gets closer you'll be up checking for pips at all hours and hovering over your incubator.

It would be great to have you over in the October HAL!
