Wow Fishman65!! I had no idea they would travel that far!! Thanks for the tip about the trap... do you think sardines would work?

Down here in the South Florida.. Everglades and Big sugar area.. the locals have a term for dealing with unwanted critters..
It's called the 3 S's

SHOOT,SHOVEL, and SHUT UP!

I think they pretty much have that same term everywhere.

These work best where the animal is travelling down a trail or at a slidee, they don,t work nearly as well with bait

Thanks for the info aprophet! We have found his slide and he is using it often!!

I think Florida is limited to cages and snares a 220 is effective just not legal but a snare at the top of the slide and at the bottom too will do the same thing if you put the snare on a drowning wire/cable you will not have to dispatch it I like a half a cinder block or a disc brake rotor as a drowning weight for an otter you will need 2-3 foot deep water for this to work good luck

Thank you so much for the great info! I am learning a lot here! We have several snares, but have never had to use them before (so we are definitely beginners here LOL). My DH is reading along with me on this... so he is learning about how to catch this thing!!! Thanks again everyone
