I got 9 ginger breasted red old English bantam eggs in the mail. Most air cells were detached to about 1/4 or so down. I ended up with 6 developing to day 16 and one died. So now it's day 19 and 3 put of 5 have their air cells reattached after being upright in cartons (turned 3x a day). My questions are.....
1} What day should I lockdown since they are bantams? (I thought today, day 19)
2} I put the 3 that air cells are reattached on their sides to hatch but should I do the same for the 2 that are still detached or leave them upright in the carton to hatch????
3} how far up do you bump humidity for chicken lockdown? (I've only done ducks for over 8yrs)
4} do they air cells look good for day 19?
Pics...first two pics are the detached air cell ones, they have 3 lines...2nd line is how far the air cell grew and the 3rd and lowest line is how far down the air cell goes. And the first line is just where the air cell was before I set them or I mean more where itwas when it was upright. And the last 3 pics are the normal air cells...2nd, lowest line is how far the cell has grown.
Thank u for any help!!

The air cells look to have started to draw down so you can go ahead and lock them down. I've had bantams hatch on the same day as larger eggs they were incubated with. They don't always come early.

Humidity is 60-75% depending on where you like it. I like it at the higher end so I don't have to worry about opening the incubator if necessary.

Are the air cells completely detached or just larger than they should be (in which case the membrane has just pulled away from the shell a bit - it doesn't mean the air cell is larger or anything like that. I'd lay them down with the others.

Good luck - OEGB's are my favourite chickens. 🥰

The 2 are detached a bit still because if you hold them upright and the air cell looks like where it should be and then as you turn the egg sideways on the dip side, you can see the air cell drop away from the side to the point where it dipped down to when I received the egg in the mail. If that makes sense??!! I am soooo excited for these guys!! The stock the guy I got them from are stunning and they are so small. Everything I've read people say they are crazy friendly too. That's what really drew me to get them besides how beautiful they are too!

Here's our beautiful Fox who is a Golden Duckwing. He's just turned a year old and he's been such an amazing first rooster. I've never been the least bit worried about him around the kids and he's been a gentleman to the ladies right from the start.

His favourite hen, Squeaks (who is currently sitting on eggs she stashed away in a secret nest).

This is Elsa who is about 7 years old now.

And our very scruffy looking, but amazing mother, Sunflower (also about 7 years old) who is raising some British Tailed Araucana chicks that hatched on Good Friday. This summer (I'm in the southern hemisphere) she also raised a duckling for us.

We hatched out some of Squeak's eggs and this little one is my favourite. She's called Thumbelina because she's so tiny. She's about 8 weeks old now. Out of 5 eggs we got 4 pullets and one cockerel which was lucky.

They are absolutely gorgeous!!!💕😻💕
I think I'm going to be in trouble with roe bantams! I already am looking at other colors

Even my husband likes them (and he doesn't like chickens 😉).
Me too! I've been raising ducks for about 9yrs and was never interested in chickens. Then my autistic daughter got obsessed with chicks and chickens (youtube videos, stuff animals, figures, ect) she is always saying "baby white chicken!" So we got 3 bantam chicks and they ended up being a polish roo and two hens idk what they were exactly. They had the best personalities and we adored them but I lost them to a raccoon a few months ago. So now I am pretty hooked on bantams especially roe bantams.

I woke up to 3 lol OEBs Friday morning! 2 light ones with 2 dark spots on their heads and 1 darker one with a dark stripe on its head. They are the absolute friendliest babies I have ever had!! I am so stoked, just hoping I get at least one of each sex. Fingers crossed 🔀!!!
