Need advice or GOOD NEWS!!!!!

I am not offering false hope, it's unlikely you'll see her. At the same time, a few years ago, Peanut was carried off by a hawk and assumed dead. She turned up at the in-laws' place some miles away.

Watch local water bodies. She may or may not do well on her own. If she was raised domestic, the odds are against her. If there are any waterfowl rescuers around, ask if they've seen a new face on the pond. Some people notice.

Meanwhile, hang on to the drake, get him integrated into the flock. Glad you clipped his wings and didn't turn him loose. Very conscientious of you.

Hoping for the best.

I'm sorry you were so wrongly steered. Definitely, do not leave new ducks where they can fly. I do have all my birds full flight but they have been raised here.

While it's possible you may never find her, she may also return... i would definitely keep an eye out and check neighboring bodies of water.

We got her back!!!!

The neighbor's boy and his buddies noticed her out by their chicken pen when it started getting dark. They knew I was looking for her and tried to catch her. She flew a bit then went into the brush...What an adventure in stickers and briars!!! I was finally able to nab her. She is back with her mate and seems no less for wear.

That sounds good, glad to read that

You are very lucky that you got her back! Would you mind to post a picture of the escapee? I'd like to see what you got for a rouen

GOOD news! During my walk today, I mentioned to the neighbor's boy that I was looking for my duck hen. And about 5:30 pm he came over to tell me, "we have your duck we have your duck! Well almost have her.. She is in the briars and we have her surrounded." lol. These kids were on a mission. Climbing around the stickers and thru, shining the flash light on her as she headed this way then back again. Finally, I saw an opening to where we could get to her and one of the boys went in. I followed behind and asked them to let me grab her. I reached down thru the briars and was able to put my hand on her back while I went under with my other hand and yayyyy! Got her. I thanked the boys over and over for being so determined and my heros! They even walked me home. :)
