I hatched SLW March 15th and 1 late one 16th. The later one has had a tough time. He has balance issues. It is like one leg is stronger than the other and he keeps flipping himself over. He is eating and drinking but seems to be getting worse. He is in his own little brooder but keeps flipping over on his back and stays that way till I get home. I hate to give up on him but I don't know what else to do. I have feed him boiled egg. Is there anything else I can do?

According to your dates this chick is now over a week old. If this is still taking place then the best thing you can do is cull it. saladin

I experienced the same thing with one of my chicks. It took a couple of weeks for the balance thing to work itself out. His balance is still not "perfect" at almost 4 weeks old, but you would never know from looking at him now:) In his case, I think it's related to the fact that his toes are "curled". I've read about people splinting splayed legs and curled toes, but I decided to leave him be. The toes are still curled, but he runs just as fast as the others! Good Luck!
