Need advice quick!!

okay so 98 should work, just make sure the eggs are getting 98 inside all the towells, 99 would be better its just so hard to regulate heat in a brooder


theres no reason why it shouldnt work, if the room and brooder temp stays steady

I have a year old Pekin named Darling that has been sitting a nest. I was able to candle 4 of the eggs over the weekend and found all four of the them be viable and easily identifiable as chicks by their shadows. I'm a first time duck owner and this is her first nest. All told there are around 12 eggs in the neat. Today my daughter went out to feed and found a partially hatched duckling dead outside the nest. I don't know what to do Should I let her continue to sit or should I put the remaining eggs in a broader and try to hatch them myself?

My view is if I let a broody hen, or duck sit then whatever happens after that is down to them. I make sure they get off the nest to eat, drink and defecate, but if they roll eggs out, part hatch and abandon, change their minds, or get hustled off their nests by another hen then any interference on my part is more likely to do harm than good in the long run.
I will clean nests and as best I can the undersides of the hens in the event of an egg breakage; this is sensible hygiene practice.

You could always make yourself a small incubator just for emergencies
