I have three eggs ready to go into lockdown today and I have a hen who just decided to go broody 2 days ago. She is sitting on one egg only. Can I, or better yet should I, put my three under her and let them hatch? Or at this points it best to leave them where they are? Thanks in advance for any help on this topic!

I would think it would be better to leave them where they are. Your broody egg has a lot longer to go than your incubator eggs. However, I've never hatched chicks so I'm far from an expert. Hopefully, this will give you the boost you need to get expert help.

Good luck

Personally I would leave them as they are, let them go into lockdown and hatch in the incubator leaving the hen broody and then perhaps try to introduce them after when they have fluffed out, make sure you remove the egg she is sitting on when you do! keep an eye on her closely to ensure she has accepted them and all is going well as she may not accept them then you will have to take them in and rear them yourself.

Thank you so much for the advice (& ignoring the accidental duplicate post:( ) it supports what I was thinking, but being a newbie I appreciate the advice. It keeps me from doing anything really dumb!
