I noticed this morning my BR was lethargic and just stayed up on the roost when everyone else went outside. I picked her up and checked her crop which felt squishy and noticed she was wheezing/gurgling coming from her neck area. I tilted her, massaged her crop and she vomited brownish liquid that stank. I am not sure what I need to do at this point. She is still gurgling once in a while, I picked her up and listened to her closer, and the noise is coming from her neck area.I do have her inside so I can watch her. I have not noticed any poop, but she did lay an egg.
I really need help with this one. It still feels like there is grain/food in her crop. I just came back from a Mennonite farm supply and asked for help/advice and he said he never heard of this??

Please, any advice?

Eggcessive...thank-you so much for your help...I read through everything you suggested. I fed her half a scrambled egg w/ kefir mixed in. She also drank 24ml of water mixed with Duramycin -10 through a syringe (no needle). She may have the start of something respiratory on top of sour crop.I have not given her any feed/grains today. I continued to massage her squishy crop. She did poop about four times today, very green.
My other hen (BO) with bumblefoot made it through the procedure on both feet yesterday...I am the one who almost didn't make it(my son helped me tremendously)! Very grateful for all the advice..Someday I hope to help others as much as you and other great BYC members!
Thanks again.

If it's a crop infection (sour crop) it's likely candida as a big squishy crop often is candida. Ironically, it often happens after tetracycline use but since the bird already likely has it, Duramycin probably isn't going to make it worse.

Anyway, the point is that you'll likely need an anti-fungal--nystatin, diflucan, even Monistat. Chlorhexidine and sodium benzoate are also options.

I am pleased to report that my BR that had crop and respiratory issues seems to be doing so much better today (crop has gone down, no more gurgling noises). She was almost back to her old self. I am going to feed her scrambled eggs with kefir for a few more days. Thanks to those who helped me!
