I have been raising 6 flying mallards for the first time and they are already 12 weeks old, beautiful birds. They have always stayed together as a group from day one, but for the past 3 days I’ve noticed my little hen, Daisy all by herself outside of the pool and wandering around.
Today I think I found out why… when I was watching them, she finally decided to jump in the pool and my drake immediately swam over and tried to ride her! She of course freaked out trying to squirm away and flew back out of the pool.
I’m just curious if this is going to stop soon? Are the boys just high in testosterone right now or something? Should I worry about my little hen always being alone?
Hope some experienced duck raisers can help me out
