We have installed this ladder for the ducks to access their run directly from the coop... Any tips on teaching them how to use it? They still hate me and just leapt out of the coop bypassing the ladder this morning! I don't want any broken feet!

ducks are annoying to teach how to use a ramp

I just left mine to it

they soon learnt

you could always put the food up and let them walk up it to get at food

they will then learn to walk down it too

Thanks! I was annoyed at the commotion it caused this mornig! You would think I wanted to cook and eat our three pet ducks the way the act!

Today we just opened the coop and they figured it out! Now how do I get them to go UP IT?!??

If you temporarily block it so the only way to get away from you is to go up they will use it. If there is anywhere to go but on the ramp those are the places the will choose. Then once they use it you can take out the plywood or rubbermaid container you were using to block their path. Hope that makes sense.
