i do detect a very slight noise in her breathing so makes me thing infection?????
should i treat with an antibiotic??? what would be the best as i did not see anything at our local tsc
also should she still be seperated from the flock??
and i went to the coop and found a large wrinkled egg.. so the bad egg layer is not red???
so i cant blame her being sick because of that. i was so sure it was her.
i may just keep her inside till the weekend or until shes better
any advise???

You can treat with an antibiotic, but most people that I have read about on here say it doesn't really healp that much. A vet can give an oral antibiotic which would be more powerful than the Procaine Penicillin injectable that is found in the refrigerated medicines at Tractor Supply. You might also try oxytetracycline or Duramycin in the water if injections aren't possible, and neither is a vet. Most people tey to make internal layers comfortable until that is no longer possible, and then consider putting them out of their misery. Procaine Penicillin G dosage is 1/4 ml injected daily into the breast muscle daily for 4 days with a 20 gauge needle inserted 1/4 inch into the skin. Oxytetracycline (Durvet brand only shown below) dosage is 2 1/2 tablespoonsful of powder per gallon of water for 7 days. Duramycin dosage is 1 tablespoonful of powder per gallon of water for 7 days.

did the picture look like a lash egg looked nothing like the pictures i saw???

The material that you cut open doesn't look typical of lash eggs I have seen pictures of, but I'm not experienced with them. It looks like some sort of reproductive matter though. I'm hoping some others with more knowledge may chime in, or you could send a private message to one of the members I mentioned in post # 10.

You may try sending her another PM--the way she spells her name is speckledhen in her avatar. I misspelled it earlier. She has been online today, so she may not have received your PM.
