I have a breeding pair of Bielefelders that are 1.5 yrs old. I just noticed my hen has single spur growing on her left leg, it's about an 1" long. Is this a trait that would not be desirable if my plans are breeding for sale? I'd like to breed quality birds and both my hen and rooster are beautiful with the exception of her one spur.
I have managed to get a single pullet off this pair, she is currently 2.5 weeks old. Would the hen having a spur be a genetic trait that would be passed on in her line?
Thanks!

Ok so forget the fact that she is a Bielefelder.
A hen with just one spur is that considered a genetic defect or along those lines? Could the single spur be a passed to offspring?
