We have a nicely colored EE that seems to be a rooster but we wanted to confirm before we find him a new home. He is 5 months old and has yet to crow. There is a head rooster in the group which could be why.

Thanks,
Kelli

He's a roo, and looks like a fine one, at that. I always end up with extra EE roos for some reason. Are they hard to sex as chicks or something? They are supposed to pullets but end up the opposite....

Definitely a roo, he could be my roo's brother. I ordered 2 pullets and got one of each. But thats ok, I can hatch more EE's now.

Thanks. I pretty much knew he was a rooster at about 4 weeks of age (my husband was in denial), but figured I'd wait it out to be sure. He was always the biggest of the chicks.

We have a pretty small flock (12 hens, 1 rooster Frank) so he will have to find a new home.
