For those of you who are checking for fertility as you break your eggs to eat,
AND have good photography skills,
please post some pics here of yolks, both fertile(blastoderm) and infertile(blastodisc).

ETA...The blastodisc(little white dot) is always present in a yolk.
becomes the blastoderm('bullseye') when fertilized.

I will put together an article that we all can link when folks ask.

It's hard to get good pics.
2 biggest things to think about:
They need to be well lit, but composed so glare from light does not obscure the spot.
Macro focus is best..maybe some of the newer cameras are good at this without a separate setting.

This pic was lucky....
sun shining in the kitchen window,
blastoderms came of shell out on top,
so I went and grabbed my 20yo digital camera with macro mode.

So what you got...or what can you get?
TIA!

I want to see these pictures also. I was always wondering because when I crack my eggs I do see a little white spot sometimes but I don't have a rooster...so is this what you would call a blastodisc? I was always confused by that.
I'm with Merrymouse.....I also do not have a rooster but sometimes those little dots look mighty suspicious

Added this to OP:

I played with my breakfast and got these.

Eggshell. Because its neat so close up!

I didn't edit the pictures or anything so if you want to try and sharpen them or mess with the colors to make it more clear go ahead.
