The one in Lakewood closed a few years ago.

Some of their stuff was overpriced- but the sales were excellent.

This
is a probe thermometer, i'm betting this is what he wants. You stick a metal tip into your meat, it goes into the oven, and then there's a digital unit it clips into (usually magnetic so it'll stick to the stove), you set the temp you want your meat to reach and the alarm goes off when it's done. Which means no more overcooked turkey. Target sells some solid ones, and when the probe wears out (about 4 years of heavy use) you can buy replacements on ebay for about $5.

Just get a bottle of white truffle oil from Marshalls or TJMaxx... or a fancy schmancy kitchen store.

Truffle butter is just softened butter mixed with a little bit of truffle oil. And truffle oil also goes really well in mashed potatoes, mac and cheese....

Thanks! Those are all some great ideas, and I'll definitely check into that probe thermometer! A deep fryer is probably a good idea too, although we tend to stay away from fried foods. Crockpot...check (he swiped mine) and he's already got everything else on Debi's list. The man LOVES cooking gadgets. And the problem is, when he wants something he just buys it.

I...need...(((((ESP)))))

I've been holding back on posting because one or ten of my ideas cannot be posted in the public forum.

AHappychick mentioned a thermometer set and others mentioned knife sets. Both are good ideas. If he already has a good selection of knives than a knife sharpener would work good too. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/index/index-display.jsp?cmCat=MainCatcat20075-cat280005&id=cat20897

As
a cook and a guy (last time I checked) my latest cooking toy is a pressure cooker and LOVE IT. A basic 8qt starts at $30.

What else is he into? Is he a tool guy, sports guy, hunter? Is he good at receiving gifts? Some of us are and some aren't. Is he a "thought that counts guy" or a turd?

uh oh, mind is straying again. Must end post.

PC, you crack me up! He's already got a pressure cooker and a knife sharpener.

He's good about receiving gifts although it has to be useful, practical and a good brand. Last year I bought him a good down comforter, something he needed but would never buy for himself. He was upset at first (that's not a guy gift LOL!) but has grown to love it; knew he would. He just would NEVER admit it.

He's got his own shop so he already has ever machine and tool known to mankind. LOVES to watch sports on TV - any of them and every game possible. Doesn't hunt but we do alot of fishing. Already has all the ice fishing gear too. Has really good cookware and lots of cast iron. Forget buying clothes. He's got jeans, sweatshirts & flannels and that's all he needs

There's my problem...he's already got just about everything
