Need hatch buddies for or close to the 18th!

It's lockdown for me today

I am trying to just not look at the incubator. Try and forget about it.

Yeah right....good luck with that.... ;-) My lockdown is tomorrow and I know I'm going to be a basket case!

I just realized something....

I got my love of poultry from my grandpa. He hatched everything you can imagine. He had these 2 big red incubators that hold about 300 eggs each and he would be so excited about "hatch day". We'd take the chicks out and put them in the brooder. He would test the eggs that didn't hatch by holding them up to his ear. He taught me how you have to add water and turn the eggs. He taught me how to "assist" them, and we helped a few chickens get out of a few eggs. He taught me about all kinds of predators and how to tell which one got a chicken by the "evidence". He passed away a few months ago and I just miss him so much.

I'm hatching now in my grandpa's incubator. I took it out of his basement when he passed away.

My silkies are due November 18th.

November 18th is also my grandpa's birthday.

That's no coincidence right there. And if I tell anyone but you people that they will give me the, "good grief" look. (You know the one. Us chicken people get the "good grief" look all the time.)

****This concludes my warm and fuzzy moment****

That's right on time.

The one is pipped towards the middle of the egg though but hopefully it should hatch.
