Need hatching buddy! Setting 5 duck and 5 hen eggs Sat 1/16

I was planning on candling tonight...been putting it off, I've usually candled at least once by this point.

As excited as I am to candle, I also get hesistant because I hate to find out how many have nothing!

Ok here are my findings, out of 14 i saw 8 that have a black "thing" in it that if i stopped long enough i could see it MOVING! i had 4 that had veins but couldnt find the black eye thing and 2 that I can't see anything in it because they are really dark eggs and all I can see is the dark vs light end.
So i think at least EIGHT of them are developing!!

What did you guys find??


as for the dropped egg? I am not sure........... I am sorry.

I don't know what to say at this point. Out of 8 silkie and 10 JG's, I tossed 3 clear silkie eggs ( I guess 3 girls is too much for Mr. Roo), hmmm. The rest I put back because I saw more than just a yolk. But I can't say I saw but maybe 3 that I was sure of. So I will wait a few days and candle again. Wish I would have seen more than what I did.

Out of 18 eggs, 8 silkie and 10 JG's, I'm now down to 13. 5 were clear, 10 have veins and that black eye, 3 have something, but I can't make it out yet. I think I see veins, but I'm not sure. Hmmm.

It's hard to just toss them. The five clear ones-I candled them 3-4 times before I threw them out. I always crack them when I throw them out. Nothing but yolk in there.
