Need help doctoring my 3 week old pullets...please *Updated*

I would go ahead and get some grit, you can get it at TSC and give them a clump of grass....wait, how old are they? Or put some branches in their cage, I think most of it was that mine were bored.

If they are brand new and pecking eyes and beaks, I would not be too worried just yet. Baby chicks -like baby humans!- have to try everything out to see if its good to eat. Ours pecked eyes, beaks, and toes, for a week or so before they realized they were not nice shiny beetles or worms or whatever nature has hardwired their brains for. After a while they learn what's food.

Don't get too concerned unless they're pecking each other bare or drawing blood. But preventive measures are good: enough space (inceased as they grow), enough protein, and a red heat lamp.

And, I'd say 3 days is too young for grit and grass just yet...... you're just seeing normal baby behavior.

Seachick -what a relief! Thank you. They have all of what you said: plenty of room, red light, and crumbles, water.
It's funny because my little white Cochin who I was worried about yesterday is the one who is Rambo today! All five were running around and it was a different chick who was pecking.Today it's the white Cochin.

thanks again, you made me feel better.

I have 12 hens. I know that some of them are on the 'lower end' of the pecking order and are pecked at, but I have a Wellsummer and an Ameraucana that have it really bad. Right now they're in the house, with another hen that we know cannot peck at them because of her crooked beak. Is there anything that I can do to help them? They also seem to be scratching themselves, could it be a sign of some sort of parasite?
