I have 12 muscovy duck eggs in the incubator all of which have ducklings in them. Three of them began to pip they were frantic and got out of their eggs within a couple of hours, however within twenty mins of hatching the ducklings died. I am not sure whether it is because the ducklings where just tired after or hatching or maybe because they where muscovy saxony duck crosses.
Humidity is 50% and 80% last couple days and temp 37.2 degrees.
Does anyone know if CROSSES BETWEEN MUSCOVIES AND MALLARD DERIVED DUCKS are more likely to die as ducklings ????????????
ANY HELP WOULD BE MOST USEFUL AS I STILL HAVE ABOUT 20 EGGS AND I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOME BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm inexperienced with hatching ducklings. But after following a friend's hatch, it seems like your humidity levels are very low. She had one die at hatching because she opened the incubator while it was hatching, and the membrane shrink-wrapped it. She learned to keep the incubator closed until the baby was dried out, and to even put a wet sponge in there if the humidity wasn't high enough.

I beileve the humidity is fine as i did extremely well last year with some pekin eggs. The ducklings don't die because of difficulty hatching..... the membrane doesn't stick to the ducklings they just seem to die once hatched. Thanks for your replie though kind regards
