Need help for my neighbor... Indian Runner Ducks :)

My neighbor has 20 Indian Runner Duck ducklings. She is wanting to give the males to a friend, but doesn't know how to sex the ducklings. They are starting to feather out, and I think they are between 4-6 or 8 weeks old. Can anyone help her sex them? Can anyone tell us how to sex them? She would like to get them separated soon... she's running out of room for all 20!

They should be quacking (or not) at that age. Loud mouth ducks are girls. The others aren't.
Not sure when the boys should get their drake feather.

Grab test. Pick them up one at a time and take them away from the flock. They will complain and you will hear a clear difference between the loud girls and the hoarse sounding boys.

With some Indian Runners- you may be able to tell from colour as well. Sadly... I am thinking your neighbour would most likely have whites and solid colours... which it wont work for- but due to the diversity of colours runners can be bred in and the genetic diverstiy- sexing by colour is a possibility ( with some of) them.

Oh wow Thanks for the useful information. I was just wondering the other day when I would be able to sex my runner ducks

Too bad chicks are not that easy to sex.
