Brooder raised chicks do fine.I have a hen that has 4, 2 week old chicks should i see how she reacts with the chicks i don't want it to be lonely and i have a lot of hens in my coop i feel like if i keep them inside till they grow and show them to the big hens they are going to start fighting and peking on them without a mom to go to what do you suggest?
I let my previous chikens and my new chikens see each other through chiken wire but they start fighting like crazy. And they still do i can't keep them together. I feel like that will happen if i put the chiks in late. Im going to try to put the chick under my nice broody hen at dark with her 4 chicks i will monitor her behavior real early if i see she is bothering them, i will take and will raise them and i will have to come up with a way for them to like each later.Brooder raised chicks do fine.
I usually introduce my chicks at about 3 - 3½ months to the adult birds.
She won't accept the younger chicks if she has 2 week olds with her. She'll most likely kill them.I let my previous chikens and my new chikens see each other through chiken wire but they start fighting like crazy. And they still do i can't keep them together. Yep. Nope. Sorry. Terrible idea. These chicks will need to be raised in a brooder. The broody hen will kill them. She is bonded to her chicks and it has been too long to introduce new ones.I let my previous chikens and my new chikens see each other through chiken wire but they start fighting like crazy.
