Im just leaving the lid half way open that good to rightThat looks good. Do you have holes in the lid to allow excess humidity to escape, & allow the chicks to breathe?

You can close it abit more then half way, but that should be good though.Im just leaving the lid half way open that good to right
When i go to sleep i should move the heat lamp a bit away right bc if they hatch the heat will be hitting themYou can close it abit more then half way, but that should be good though.
You definitely wanna make sure the heat lamp isn't really close to them at anytime. Those things can get really hot, & can kill them by overheating them. When i go to sleep i should move the heat lamp a bit away right bc if they hatch the heat will be hitting them
Sorry for asking to many questions usually my hens hatch the eggs and if iYou can close it abit more then half way, but that should be good though.
Is it normal for the wet towls to start getting cold they are getting a bit cool and its cooling the container and the eggs a bitYou definitely wanna make sure the heat lamp isn't really close to them at anytime. Those things can get really hot, & can kill them by overheating them.
As long as the eggs stay above 96°F they'll be fine. If they do get cool for a short period of time, like 30mins to about an hour it's fine. It'll just mimic the cool down period when mama hen gets off the eggs for a break.Sorry for asking to many questions usually my hens hatch the eggs and if i

Its better for the eggs to be a bit cool with light than to hot right just making sure for when i go to sleep i don't want rhem to get to hot but not to cool to it will be easier once they hatch i thinkAs long as the eggs stay above 96°F they'll be fine. Yep, not too hot, & not too cool. Its better for the eggs to be a bit cool with light than to hot right just making sure for when i go to sleep i don't want rhem to get to hot but not to cool to it will be easier once they hatch i think
Do you think it will be esier if i put these eggs under the hen with her other chiks and check up on the tmr like around 7am bc the hen has the right temperature and humidity under her and i can't do that that good because i don't have a incubator or should i just leave them under the heat lampYep, not too hot, & not too cool.
It's gonna be tough to keep the temperature, & humidity stable with your set up, so all you can is try.
I do wish you luck on your soon to be hatching chicks.
You can try it for the night but be out there before sunrise to check and keep an eye on things. It's risky but really your makeshift incubator is risky as well.Do you think it will be esier if i put these eggs under the hen with her other chiks and check up on the tmr like around 7am bc the hen has the right temperature and humidity under her and i can't do that that good because i don't have a incubator or should i just leave them under the heat lamp
